UZH.ai, the AI hub of the University of Zurich, is expanding its core team – and we’re looking for people who want to build and scale AI collaborations at Switzerland’s largest university.
We are currently recruiting for two key positions:
- Industry & Partnership Manager 80% - 100% (fixed-term, 1 year with high chance of extension) – a hands-on role focused on building and managing collaborations with companies, public institutions, and other external partners around AI research and innovation at UZH.
- Senior AI Engagement Lead 20% -50% – a strategic role that connects UZH’s AI strengths with high-impact opportunities, from flagship partnerships and programs to major events such as the Geneva World AI Summit.
In the Industry & Partnerships role, you will identify collaboration opportunities with industry and public partners, shape concrete projects with UZH researchers, and help design offerings such as joint research projects, innovation pilots, and fellowship co-sponsorships. Your goal is to turn UZH.ai into a go-to entry point for external partners who want to work with UZH on AI – and to help make the role financially self-sustaining via meaningful collaborations.
As Senior AI Engagement Lead, you will work more strategically across the UZH.ai portfolio: mapping and positioning UZH’s AI expertise, driving cross-faculty initiatives, and shaping partnerships and programs that put UZH.ai on the map as a leading, domain-first AI university in the German-speaking world. This includes co-developing flagship formats (e.g. fellowships, events, visiting programs), supporting UZH’s presence at major AI conferences, and acting as a sparring partner for leadership and government on AI-related opportunities and partnerships.
Both roles sit in a small, agile team that acts as a connector rather than a new silo: we spot, support, and amplify existing AI initiatives across faculties instead of reinventing them. You will work closely with researchers, students, and central units in an environment where AI is treated as a driver for research, teaching, and innovation – and where collaboration with partners in Zurich, Switzerland, and beyond is core to the mission.
